My Life as a Designer

“I did not find graphic design. Graphic design found me. And it was all by accident .

I was studying psychology in college and I was approached by a friend who had a startup project and needed a website . He had no money to pay a web designer and knew I was good with computers. He asked if I knew how to design websites. I said no , but I’ll sure give it a shot! And from there , a fire within me began. I loved it like I had loved nothing else before it.

I self taught my way through web design for about 3 years and eventually graduated to print design where I remain today as that is my true passion. I changed colleges and my major to graphic design to assure I had all the fundamentals to supplement having been self-taught.

But if I’m very honest , it’s having thrown myself into the fire and sinking or swimming that has had the most impact on my design career rather than school . You can’t teach Design. You either have it or you don’t. But I have a profound respect for the history and foundation of graphic design and don’t discount its importance for a well rounded designer .

Today with close to 10 years under my belt , I can safely say I could not imagine my world without Design and it is and always will be my deepest love. And I pass that passion for art onto every design I do for you”
